Helen Dickinson Hanby

Wynantskill Helen Dickinson Hanby, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late James Dickinson and Jane (Carr) Dickinson. and wife of the late Clifford Emerson Hanby.

She was raised in Troy and resided in Wynantskill for over 55 years and was a 1941 graduate of Troy High School.

Mrs. Hanby was a homemaker and for several years worked at Regal Art Press in Troy and the Jack and Jill Nursery in Wynantskill for 10 years as a teachers aide. She was a member of First Reformed Church of Wynantskill.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Hanby of Brunswick and Lori A. Albert (Richard) of Wynantskill; two sons, Stephen W. Hanby (Virginia) of Brunswick and Philip A. Hanby (Maria) of Grafton; five grandchildren, Derick, Shaelyn and Dustin Albert of Wynantskill, Christopher Bailey of Troy and Tara Hanby of Brunswick; a great grandson, Michael Bailey; a sister, Olive Bonesteel of Wynantskill and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Peter Hanby; and three brothers, J. Leslie, Ronald W. and Edward I. Dickinson.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Pacia Vamvas, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 3-7 PM. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, in Wynantskill.
