Helen C. End

Slingerlands - Helen C. End, 85, of Beverwyck died suddenly Saturday, January 15, 2011, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late William F. End Sr. and Mabel E. Hislop End. She had resided in Troy for many years, Boston for awhile and in the Capital District for most of her life. Miss End was a graduate of Troy Public School 18 and Troy High School, class of 1943, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Jackson College for Women (Tufts University) and a Masters from NYS University in Oneonta.

Miss End taught for 5 years at Troy Public School 17 and for Bethlehem Central School District at Slingerlands Elementary for 27 years.

She was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association, the PEO and Delmar Presbyterian Church. Helen accompanied the singing for the ecumenical services each Sunday at the Beverwyck.

Survivors include her twin brother, William F. End Jr., Troy; a niece, Nancy E. End; nephews, David W. (Nancy) End and William and Richard Davies and great nephew and nieces, Alexandra and Caroline End and William and Katherine Davies. She was predeceased by a sister, Mabel Davies

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Larry Deyss , Pastor of Delmar Presbyterian Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Helen End to the Northeast Health Foundation 2224 Burdett Avenue Troy, NY 12180.
