Grace (Jaffarian) Sapino

Naples, FL - Grace Sapino was born on February 26, 1927 in Troy, New York.  She was the youngest daughter of Toros and Aghavni Jaffarian.  Her mother died when she was just one year old.  In spite of that she had a wonderful and rich childhood, being raised by her father, her beloved grandmother and her Uncle Doctor.  At the age of fifteen she met Ted Sapino, the love of her life, at Troy High School.  They were married on June 12, 1949, and enjoyed 70 wonderful years together. In 1952 they settled in Framingham, Massachusetts, where they raised their two daughters.  Their marriage also produced five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.  She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She excelled in everything she put her hand to.  She bore both tragedy and blessings with the same optimism.  Our Grace  believed everyday was a gift from God and lived each day  to the fullest.  Grace always saw the best in people and brought out the best in all of us. She was a woman of extraordinary faith who trusted God in all things.  She was the very heart and center of her family, and we can hardly fathom life continuing without her.  She passed away peacefully on July 19th, surrounded by her family, talking to God and trusting in His promises. She was the light of our life.
Funeral services will be in her hometown of Troy, New York on Saturday August 3rd at 10:00am at St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church.  St. Peter is located at 100 Troy-Schenectady Road in Watervliet, New York.  Flowers may be sent to the church.  Grace’s favorite charity has been Place of Hope in  Haiti.
