Grace A. (Hansen) Owens

Poestenkill - Grace Hansen Owens, 68, of Snyders Corner Road died Saturday, October 21, 2017, after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she  was daughter of the late Russell Hansen and Rose Reckner Hoover and wife for 12 years  of the late David  Owens. She had resided in the Wynantskill and Poestenkill areas most of her life and was a graduate of Averill Park Schools. 

Grace was a Principal Social Welfare Examiner for the Rensselaer County Department of Social Services for 35 years retiring in 2004.  

She enjoyed baking, golfing with her girlfriends, and fishing at Cossayuna Lake with family and friends.  She loved being outdoors and working in the yard.

Survivors include her son,  Robert (Kelly) Owens, Poestenkill; her beloved grandchildren, Dane William and Sierra Rose Owens; her sister, Carol (Earl) Krogh, Poestenkill and her brother, Ralph (Barbara) Hansen, Averill Park; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Albert Hansen.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday from 10-12 Noon prior to the service at 12 Noon.

Interment will be in  Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
