Grace (Provost) Mitchell

Albany - Grace Provost Mitchell died August 13, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Albany, NY.  She was born January 4, 1926 in Willsboro, NY, the daughter of Oliver and Gertrude (Murphy) Provost.  She was married to Raymond J. Mitchell on November 21, 1959 until he predeceased her on February 25, 2005.  Fitting to their total devotion to each other, Grace died on her beloved Raymond’s birthday.  They lived for many years in Cohoes, NY.  In recent years she had lived in Diamond Ridge Retirement Community in Troy and most recently at the Atria Shaker Assisted Living Community in Albany NY.  Her family is most grateful for the support and care she received from the staff of the Atria Life Guidance Community.  Similarly, the compassion of the doctors, nurses and other staff at Memorial Hospital is gratefully acknowledged.

She is survived by her brother, William O. Provost and many nieces and nephews who cared for her deeply.  She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Norman and Walter and her sisters: Helen Sennett, Alice Clark, and Mary Rivers.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Grace on Monday, August 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Philip of Jesus Church in Willsboro NY with burial following at Calvary Cemetery in Willsboro.
