Gloria Nolan Steinbach, 87

North Greenbush - Gloria Nolan Steinbach, 87, formerly of West Sand Lake Road and Ahern Avenue died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late Martin E. Nolan and Clara F. Kilcher Nolan and wife of the late Joseph A. Steinbach. She was raised in Albany, had resided in Troy since 1953 and was a graduate of Vincentian High School, class of 1944.

Mrs. Steinbach was employed as a Medicaid Claims Examiner for the New York State Department of Social Services in Albany for 15 years, retiring in 1987.

She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and a communicant of the former St. Francis de Sales Church in Troy.

Survivors include a son, Martin J. (Connie) Steinbach, Troy; two daughters, Margaret (William) Eastwick, Wynantskill and Constance (Arthur) Blair, Troy; two grandchildren, Katherine A. and Emily R. Steinbach; two greatly loved nieces, Claire Marie Baptiste and Cathy Greco and other cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Karl E. Steinbach; three brothers, Martin E., Joseph and William Nolan and three sister, Genevieve Deyo, Clare Gorman and Kathryn Pettit.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 4 - 7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery Glenmont.

The family would like the thank all the staff of the Van Rensselaer Manor for their care, support and for touching the life of Gloria while she resided there.
