Gladys A. Engwer Manning, 87

Troy Gladys A. Engwer Manning, 87, formerly of Stow Avenue Troy, died Sunday at St. Peter's Hospital Albany, after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Daniel A. Engwer Sr. and Lillian Cooper Engwer and wife of the late David P. Manning Sr. She had resided in the Troy area all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mrs. Manning was a nurses aide at Hallmark Nursing Centre in Troy retiring in 1978.

She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush.

Survivors include two sons, David P. Manning Jr. (Gail) of Wynantskill and Darryl W. Manning of Troy; a daughter-in-law, Linda Manning of Troy; five sisters, Marie Sagendorf (Wayman) of West Sand Lake, Alethea Carroll of Palmetto, FL, Lillian Lapp ( Harold) of California, Dorothy McGann of Wynantskill, Jean Sandman (David) of Mount Airy, NC; a brother, Daniel A. Engwer Jr. of Averill Park; eight grandchildren, David P. Manning III, Michele E. Kronau, Marguerite A. McMillen, Joseph W. Manning, Dwight W. Manning Jr., Deborah A. Shoemaker, Kerri L. Sage and Erin M. Manning; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Dwight W. Manning Sr.

A Memorial mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church at a time to be announced. There will be no calling hours.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Manning to (nephew) Bishop Elias Manning O.S.M. CONV. Parish in Valenca, Brazil c/o Saint Michael's Church Williams Road Troy, NY 12180.
