Gladys E. Phillips Fox, 89

Troy Gladys E. Phillips Fox, 89, of Burdett Avenue, died Thursday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a brief illness.

Born in Stoke Newington, England she was daughter of the late Austin and Alice Annie Stockwell Phillips and wife of the late Rodmond P. Fox. She came to the United States as a baby and then resided in Philadelphia, Delhi, NY and in the Troy area since the late 1930's.

Mrs. Fox was co-owner of Nicollette Glove on Broadway in Troy for more than 10 years.

She was a member of the Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church in Troy.

Survivors include a son Thomas Rodmond Fox and wife Phyllis of Marcellus, NY; a daughter Ethel Anne Post and husband Richard of Troy; a brother-in-law Albert Fox of Troy; six grandchildren Deborah R. Bevevino of Troy, Kevin Rodmond Post of West Sand Lake, Jeffrey Rodmond Fox of Liverpool, Brian Edward Fox of Martha's Vineyard, Rebecca Liga of Troy and Jonathan Charles Fox of Marcellus; seven great-grandchildren Nicholas Thomas Bevevino, Laura Elizabeth Bevevino, Joshua Alexander Bevevino, Christopher Noah Bevevino, Anthony Joseph Liga, Jacob Rodmond Fox and Kelsey Ryan Fox and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 6 brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00am from Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church Congress Street Troy with Rev. Douglas Thomson, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy on Sunday from 3-6pm.

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
