Gladys May (Abbott) Bonesteel

Tucson, AZ - Gladys May Abbott Bonesteel, 82, formerly of Wynantskill, died Friday, January 2, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson after a brief illness.

Born in Poestenkill, she was daughter of the late Harvey Abbott and Marion Clarkson Abbott Almond and wife for 59 years of Warren C. Bonesteel. She was raised in Poestenkill, resided in Troy for 10 years, in Wynantskill for 45 years and the past 15 years in Arizona and attended Poestenkill schools. 

Mrs. Bonesteel was employed as a homemaker.  She enjoyed spending time at the casinos and loved her time with her family.    

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Bruce (Nancy) Bonesteel, Selkirk, Beth (Stan) Bobel, East Greenbush and Brian (Margaret) Bonesteel, Wynantskill; a sister, Frances Thomas, Phoenix, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Doris Shaffer and Connie Bonesteel; her grandchildren, Briana, Brena and Brice Bonesteel and Amanda and Steven Bobel and several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9-11 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11AM with Rev. Arthur Hagy , officiating.   Interment will be in  Memory Gardens Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Gladys May Bonesteel to the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church 990 Hoosick Road Troy, NY 12180 .
