George S. Weatherwax, Sr.

North Greenbush - George S. Weatherwax, Sr., 72, died Tuesday, August 02, 2016, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Myron Weatherwax and Eleanor Amadon Weatherwax and husband of the late Elizabeth Fisher Weatherwax. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School. 

George was employed in maintenance for the Troy School District, retiring 11 years ago and previously at the Grand Union Warehouse.  

George was a loving, caring friend to all, a member of the Veteran's of Lansingburgh and an Army veteran. 

Survivors include two children, Robin (William) Dahl, Troy and George S. (Melissa) Weatherwax, Jr., Latham; a sister, Carolyn Pinzer, Troy, his adoring grandchildren, Matthew and Adam Dahl and Henry Weatherwax; his in-laws, Barbara Weatherwax, William and Kathleen, Roger and the late John Fisher and
several niece, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by two brothers, David and Robert Weatherwax.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4-6 PM.  Funeral service Saturday at 9 AM at St. Augustine's Church Troy for a Mass of Christian Burial.
