George J. Plante Sr., 62

Poestenkill - George J. Plante Sr., 62, of Weatherwax Road died suddenly Monday, November 09, 2009, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Charles and Marguerite Plante. He resided in Poestenkill most of his life and earned his BS from Siena College and his MS from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in NYC.

Mr. Plante was employed by NYS Division of Parole as a Senior Parole Officer retiring in 2004 and also US Navy retired as a Lt. Commander.

He loved his children and his country and was a member of the Tibbits Cadets of Troy.

Survivors include his children and other relatives.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11AM at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
