George W. Parry, 93

Stuarts Draft, VA - George W. Parry, 93, of Greenway Road died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, after a long illness.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late William Henry Parry and Emily May Singleton Parry and husband of Natalie Parry. He was a long time resident of the Capital District and was a graduate of Albany High School class of 1942.

Mr. Parry was employed at Albany International in Menands.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and Every Man's Bible Class. He was a member for over 60 years of the First Church in Albany (Reformed) where he served as a Deacon and Elder and a 20 year volunteer at the Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. George was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, George Kendred Parry, Stuarts Draft, VA; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Jeanne Bernhardt, Corrie Ruth Kinder and Sundie Houck Marquardt; 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Garhardt, Saratoga and Edith May, Gloversville and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Ralph Thomas Parry, three years ago and two sisters, Emily White and Bertha Parker.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11AM at the First Church in Albany 110 North Pearl Street Albany.

Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery Delmar at a later date.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of George Parry to the Clee Park Memorial Fund First Church in Albany 110 North Pearl Street Albany, NY 12207.
