George Daniel Davis Jr., 90

Troy - George Daniel Davis Jr., 90, of Collins Avenue died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

He was born March 4, 1924 in Troy to the late George D. Davis Sr. and Lillian Hazel McKean Davis.

George was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving from 1942 until 1946. He worked for over 32 years at General Electric at the Knowles Laboratory in Niskayuna, retiring in 1984.

George enjoyed his family, carpentry, movies, fishing and ice skating.

He was a member of the Troy Lodge of Elks and the Troy Pistol League.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen O'Neil Davis; his 3 children, Linda (Davis) Larson of Warsaw, NY, George D. (Dennise) Davis III of Vienna, Va, and Thomas Paul (Joanne) Davis of Edgewood, MD; 4 grandchildren, Laura Larson (Eric) DeBadts of Warsaw, Rob Larson of Troy, Cory (Jackie) Davis of Las Vegas, and Thomas F. Davis of Edgewood, MD; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Chris and Joe Klonowski.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5-8 PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. James J. Vaughan, officiating.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy with military honors.
