I would like the family to know that he was one of the best teachers I ever had. I took Biology and Advanced Biology. We enjoyed him so much that we even visited his classroom after school. He was only 7 years older than my class and his death makes me think about how short life can be.

Mr. Backhaus was my Homeroom and Biology teacher at Tamarac. I'm very sad to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My deepest sympathy to George`s son and daughter and their families for the lost of their dad and grandfather. I worked with George at Brittonkill for many years.I enjoyed the many trips we made with the teachers to New York City organized by your dad ! He was a kind person and treated all with respect and sincere caring. He will be missed! I am praying for you that God will comfort you and give you peace! Sincerely Rita Colvin
