Fred W. Duncan, 60

Plattsburgh, NY - Fred W. Duncan, 60, of Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at his daughter's residence in Milford, PA after a brief illness surrounded by his family.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Fred W. Duncan and Agnes M. Sheffer Duncan. He was raised and educated in Troy and resided in Plattsburgh for several years.

Mr. Duncan was a corrections officer for the New York State Department of Corrections for 15 years, retiring several years ago as a Sargent.

He was a member of the CSEA . Fred was an intelligent man who will always be remembered by his quick witted sense of humor. He lived his life to the fullest while always placing his family first.

Survivors include his children, Fredrick Scott Duncan and his wife Erin of Mt. Pocono, PA, Tracy Taylor and her husband Steven of Milford, PA, Gregory Duncan and his wife Diana of Mt. Pocono, PA, William Duncan and his wife Terri of Keesville, NY, Pamela Johnson and her husband Chris of Saranac, NY and Faye LaFountain and her husband Gary of Irvine, KY; his grandchildren, Samantha, Gabrielle, Ryan and Jeff Taylor of Milford, PA, Brittany, Jordan, Dakota, C.T. and Logan Duncan of Mt Pocono, PA, Blake Johnson of Saranac and Rhiannon, Cody and Emma LaFountain of KY. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Duncan and a grandchild, Lily Duncan.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. C. Joseph Ingraham, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 AM -1 PM.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Fred W. Duncan to the charity of one's choice.
