Frank O. Allen, 90

West Sand Lake Frank O. Allen, 90, of Tollgate Road, died suddenly Monday at his residence.

Born in Frencestown, NH he was son of the late Frank H. and Anna Hatstat Allen and husband of the late Vera L. Towne Allen. He had resided in New Hampshire until the age of 14, then Vermont and Albany and the past 57 years in the Rensselaer and West Sand Lake areas.

Mr. Allen was employed as a truck driver for Vermont Transit for 14 years, a chauffeur in Claremont, New Hampshire and a truck driver for Spector Freight Lines in Albany for 30 years retiring in 1978. He was an antique car buff and collector.

He was a member of the Teamsters Local #294 and the Retirement Club of Teamsters and a Navy veteran of World War II in the Sea Bees.

Survivors include a son, Frank H. Allen (Nancy) of Taborton; a daughter, Judith A. Lebrecht (Roy) of Clifton Park and seven grandchildren, Tanya M. Mentzer of Pennsylvania, Tamara Fochs of Wisconsin and Marie Allen, Colleen Severson, Mary Beth Allen, Francis Allen and Laura Avery all of New York State; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and a special friend, Karen Dillon of Selkirk.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. Andrew Russ, Chaplain, The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8PM. Interment Elmwood Cemetery in West Sand Lake.
