Francis 'Frank' 'Pops' J. Hoban, Sr.

Wynantskill - Francis ‘Frank’ J. Hoban, Sr., 84, of Marion Avenue died Monday, July 23, 2018 after a long illness.

Born in New York City, he was the husband for 50 years of Margaret A. Maxwell Hoban. He resided in St. Coleman’s Home and LaSalle School in Albany.  He was a graduate of Albany High School and lived in Wynantskill for the past 15 years.

Mr. Hoban was a supervisor in the maintenance department of the State University of New York at Albany for over 30 years, retiring 19 years ago. He previously worked as a mechanic at Freihofer's in Albany.  

‘Frank’ ‘Pops’ was active in the West End Little League, belonged to the Third Order of St. Francis (Ss. Louis & Elizabeth Chapter) and adored his pets.    

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Michael Hoban, Philip Kiernan, Albany, Lynne Kiernan, Duanesburg, Scott (Mary Lee) Kiernan, Wynantskill and Francis (Jessica) Hoban, Jr., Wynantskill; three grandchildren, Krystina, Jerrod and Bruce Michael (Kirsten) Plekan and two great grandchildren, Isabelle and Abigail Plekan and many nieces and nephews including his close grandniece, Courtnie (Erik) Finkell. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 5-8PM. 

Funeral service will be held Friday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, officiating.

Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery Glenmont.
