Frances Mason Dempsey, 86

Millbrook, NY- Frances Mason Dempsey, 86, formerly of Spring Avenue in Latham died Monday, July 23, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie after a brief illness.

Born in Petersburgh, she was the daughter of the late William Mason and Maude (Littlefield) Mason and wife of the late Vincent 'Bill' Dempsey.

She was raised in Petersburgh, resided in Troy and in Latham for the past 60 years and earned her Bachelor's degree from the College of St. Rose in Albany.

Mrs. Dempsey retired in 1991, with 37 years of service to St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, as the Director of Medical Records and later was a consultant in Quality Management. She also was a consultant for several area nursing homes.

She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Troy for many years as a choir member and soloist, Head of the Diaconate Board and held various offices in the Women's Service Guild. Mrs. Dempsey was a member of the New York State Association for Medical Records and the American Medical Records Association.

She is survived by her great friends the Zoltan's; a loving niece, Charlotte Doyle of Reston, VA and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and several sisters, Evelyn Moon, William L. Mason, Luella Hubbard, Florence Peckham and Annette Cerrone.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church 82 Third Street Troy with Rev. Douglas Thomson, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 PM.

Interment Meadowlawn Cemetery in Petersburgh.
