F. Robert "Bob" Kirsch, 88

Watervliet - F. Robert "Bob" Kirsch, 88, entered into rest Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy New York after a very brief illness.

Born in Buffalo, Bob was the son of the late Frank A. and Marie A. (Cook) Kirsch, and husband of the late Phyllis Townsend Kirsch.

Bob was a life long resident of Lockport until the past few years, residing at 26 Bob-O-Link Lane. For the past several years he has resided in Albany and Holiday, Florida with family.

He worked for many years with his father and brothers in the family business, H.C. Mapes Corp., a Lockport plumbing and heating company. He was a licensed New York State Master Plumber. The last several years of his work life were spent at Harrison Radiator Division of GMC as a maintenance supervisor.

Bob was an active member of the following organizations while he resided in Lockport: Lodge 41 BPOE, Tuscarora Club, Lockport Town & Country Club, Harrison G-9 Club, Buffalo Trap & Field Club, Olcott Yacht Club, Gatineau Fish and Game Club of Quebec, De Sales Boosters Club, and a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham, New York.

He is survived by a daughter, Karen A. Fuller of Watervliet NY; a son, Robert W. Kirsch of Wilson, NY; a brother, William A. and Margaret (Danna) Kirsch and the late Mary Ann (Langton) Kirsch of Lockport; and sister-in law, Margaret (Evans) Kirsch, wife of the late Eugene Kirsch; six grandchildren, J.R. and Dean Fuller, Robbie, Brian, Melanie and Melissa Kirsch; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Lester and Eugene Kirsch.

A Memorial service was held in Florida, Sunday April 24th with Reverend Lee Palmer officiating. A Memorial Service will also be held Saturday May 6, 2006 at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Church , 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.

Entombment will be at Glenwood Mausoleum in Lockport, NY.
