Evelyn M. Snyder, 84

North Greenbush - Evelyn M. Snyder, 84, died Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born in Watervliet, she was daughter of the late John J. Snyder and Adelaide Breton Snyder. She was raised in Watervliet and Troy and resided on Spring Avenue in Troy for over 10 years and was a graduate at St Patrick's School in Watervliet, Watervliet High School class of 1945 and attended Russell Sage College.

Miss Snyder was a stenographer for the New York State Department of Health, retiring in 1982 and later worked for Manpower performing temporary employment with various employers.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

Survivors include three sisters, Margaret Prate, Rochester, Adelaide Grogan, Troy and Jean Fitzgerald, Latham; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff of B-1 at Van Rensselaer Manor for the loving care given to Evelyn.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James J. Vaughan.

Interment will be in St. Jean's Cemetery Troy.
