Evelyn R. Weber Hein, 92

Troy - Evelyn R. Weber Hein, 92 of Sherman Avenue Troy died Friday, February 21, 2014, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Plattsburgh, NY she was daughter of the late Henry Weber and Carrie Hare Weber and wife of the late Chester E. Hein. From 1971-94 she resided in the southwest and returned to Troy to be with family. She was educated through high school in Whitehall, NY and took bookkeeping courses at night school in the Albany area. She was also a Qualified Nurses Aide for Albany Medical Center.

While residing in Deming, New Mexico, Evelyn was employed as a desk and research clerk for the Deming Public Library.

Her greatest joy was being a volunteer with Special Olympics and being a "Grandma" for Special Education. The children always enjoyed Evelyn's teaching them to bake cookies. Evelyn's hobbies were crafting, cooking, sewing and she also loved to read.

Evelyn will be missed for her great love and compassion shown to all and for being a great woman of faith and prayer.

Survivors include a son, Clifford W. (Kathy) Hein, Troy; four grand children, Ralph H. Hein, Jr., (Tracie), TX. , Beryl A. Tamayo (Vince, Sr.), TX, Samantha R. Letson, VA, Sherrie C. Hein, VA; six great grandchildren, Stacey and Donna Sherrod, Seth Hein, Virginia, Lillie Mae, Vince Jr., and Johnnie Tamayo, TX; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Hein, TX.; three sisters, Betty Maxim, Ruth Edmonds, FL, Sylvia Mosall, Albany; two brothers, Jack Weber, Rochester and Richard Weber, Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. Also survived by a dear friend, Evelyn Sherman. She was predeceased by a son, Ralph H. Hein Sr. and five siblings, Albert, William and Harry Weber and Marion Kingston and Laura Dubay.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday from 11AM-1PM with a service to follow at 1PM .

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Evelyn R. Hein to the Food Pantries for the Capital District 32 Essex Street Albany, NY 12206 or Capital City Rescue Mission PO Box 1999, 259 South Pearl Street Albany, NY 12202.
