Ernest L. Sherman, 85

Wynantskill - Ernest L. Sherman, 85, of Renshaw Road died Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Born in Hoosick Falls, he was son of the late Rolla Sherman and Bernice Welling Sherman and husband for over 60 years of Margaret Holland Sherman. He was raised in Hoosick Falls and resided in the Troy area most of his life. He was a graduate of Hoosick Falls schools and took electronics in the US Navy.

Mr. Sherman was employed by RCA as a television repairman for 40 years.

He loved hunting and fishing and was a member and financial secretary for 30 years of the Hendrick Hudson Fish and Game Club and a member of the Third Presbyterian Church of Troy. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Jane (Charles) Masenas, Essex Junction, VT; a son, James (Virginia) Sherman, West Morland , NY and his grandchildren, Andrew Masenas and Mark and Thomas Sherman. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Malcolm Sherman.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.
