Troy - Ernest J. Meyers, Jr., 75, passed away at his residence on October 14, 2012.

Born on May 26, 1937, in Glendale, Queens, he was the son of the late Ernest J. Meyers and Norine Wright Meyers. Devoted husband of 48 years to Loretta E. Mierzwa Meyers.

Loving father of Jennifer A. (John) Zimmermann and Peter J. Meyers (Karen). Cherished grandpa of Melissa Anne & Heather Norine Zimmermann. Lovingly called "Jack" by his family, he was the younger brother of Arlene Alber and Carol Corley, older brother of Miriam Zalenski, Norine Zalenski, Barbara Grant, Andrew Meyers and Pamela Phillips. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ernie graduated with Honors from Food Trade Vocational H.S. in Manhattan and enlisted as a cook in the US Army stationed in Germany and France, and also was very active in scouting, earning the honor of Eagle Scout. Reading, puzzles and American History were his active passions.
