Ernest F. Gratton , 79

North Greenbush Ernest F. Gratton , 79 ,of Winter Street Extension, died Monday, February 14, 2005 at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Ernest Gratton and Ida (Mosseau) Gratton and husband of Aurora Ammang Gratton.

He had resided in Maine, the Philippines, Plattsburg, Guam and since 1987 in North Greenbush.

Mr. Gratton was a career veteran, as Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during World War II, Korea and Vietnam retiring in 1968.

He was an active member of the Disabled American Veteran's where he was a fund raiser for the organization and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Troy.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Edward A. Gratton (Danette) of Troy; a sister, Ida Myers of Indian Harbor Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Ryan, Devon and Taylor Gratton and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Hulda Miner, Dorothy Gratton and Barbara McCann and three brothers Harold, Edward and Donald Gratton.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 8:30 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church 416 Third Street Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery in Troy.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Gratton to the Albany Medical Center Children's Hospital A119, Developmental Office Albany, NY 12208.
