Erin E. (Cooney) McEvilly

Watervliet - Erin E. Cooney McEvilly, 62, of 4th Ave. died peacefully Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Albany Med with her husband and children by her side.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late John Cooney & Margery Malone Cooney, and wife of 40 years to Ronald C. McEvilly Sr. She had resided in the Troy area most of her life and was a graduate of Troy High School, attended Hudson Valley Community College and became a certified real estate broker. 

Erin was owner and operator of Lil' Leprechaun Day Care in Watervliet for 5 years, a retail manager for Cumberland Farms for 11 years and a real estate broker for Century 21, Reality USA and Victoria G. Reality for 10 years.

She was a Notary Public and enjoyed traveling, crafting, knitting and was a yard sale queen. Erin loved spending time with her family and all things Irish.    

Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Waters, Wynantskill; three sons: Ronald C. (Renee) McEvilly Jr., White Creek, Matthew J. (Lauren) McEvilly, Watervliet and Timothy J. McEvilly, Dallas, TX; six grandchildren: David, Kyle, Eyzik, Clara, Alyvia and Kelley; a sister, Kristin Ayotte and 6 brothers, Richard, Kevin, Brian, Michael, Shaun and predeceased brother, John Cooney and many loved ones.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, October 16 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:30AM at the funeral home and 10AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill where a Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
