Coventry, RI - Erhard Uhmann, 93, of MacArthur Blvd and formerly of Troy died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in Coventry after a long illness.
Born in Jonsdorf, Czech Republic, he was son of the late Gustav Uhmann and Emma Kessler Uhmann and husband of the late Johanna Wengert Uhmann. He was raised and educated in Germany and has resided in Troy since 1952.
Mr. Uhmann was a Heating and Plumbing Supervisor for Samaritan Hospital in Troy for 35 years, retiring in 1988 .
He enjoyed drawing, painting, stamp collecting, home repair and especially spending time with his family. He was a German Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three daughters, Dagmar I. (Jerry) Thomas, Coventry, RI, Andrea (Michael) Malone, Penfield, NY and Crista (Jeff) Russell, Southhold; a son, Mark (Coleen) Uhmann, Troy; his grandchildren, Alexander (Carly) Thomas, Andrew (Melissa) Thomas, Jessica (Anatole) Kleiner, Kevin Malone, Zachary, Darian and Ridge Russell, Amanda Meher and Erhard Marcus Uhmann II and his great grandchildren, Lucy, Charlotte, Lily and Luke Thomas and Hanna, Benjamin and Naomi Kleiner. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Erin Thomas.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Monday, at 10 AM at the funeral home with Deacon Charles Wojton, officiating.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.
