Emma Jean 'Jean' (Horton) Wallace

February 18, 1935 ~ July 25, 2015 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Averill Park - Emma Jean Horton Wallace, 80, of Averill Park died Saturday, July 25, 2015, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Okeechobee, FL, she was daughter of the late Wesley Horton and Zoria Stella Cornell Horton and wife for 57 years of William Alan Wallace. She was raised in Florida and Alabama and resided in the Capital District for many years prior to the Averill Park area; She was a graduate of Pensacola High School, Empire State College and earned her Master's Degree from The State University of New York at Albany in Fine Arts. 

Jean was a freelance artist in the art of  welding and ceramics, having had showings in Europe, China and Washington, DC and New York City.  

Survivors in addition to her husband include four sons, Jack N. Wallace, Albany, William E. Wallace II, Albany, Robert K. Wallace, Sacramento, CA and Roland F. Wallace, Troy; a brother, Wesley Charles Horton, Big Bear Lake, CA; two sisters, Elsie Rose Horton, Fresno, CA and Helen Brannen, Statesboro, GA; a grandson, William Andrew Wallace, Schenectady and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Emma Jean Wallace to the Alzheimer's Association of NENY4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405Albany, NY 12205.
