Albany - Ellen Irene Dimmer, 57, of Spring Street died suddenly Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Walter C. Bentley Jr. and Audrey Bentley and wife of Edward A. Dimmer for 39 years. She was raised in Watervliet and resided in Albany since 1970 and was a graduate of Watervliet High School.
Mrs. Dimmer a homemaker and many years ago worked as an order filler for Montgomery Ward.
Ellen just completed writing and publishing a book of poetry called PICTURES, POEMS AND MONKEY PAWS. She was an avid collector of stuffed animals, read poetry and loved shopping.
Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Noel C. Dimmer of Albany; a sister, Donna Beth (Alex Doolittle) Bentley of Seattle, WA; a brother, Ron Bentley of Troy; two aunts, Eleanor Stowell of Wynantskill and Evelyn Palmer of Watervliet and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Ronald Stockhoff, officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery Menands
