Ella M. Baker Schroeder, 89

Albany - Ella M. Baker Schroeder, 89, of Washington Ave. Extension and formerly of Troy died Friday, September 23, 2011, at Daughters of Sarah after a brief illness.

Born in Rensselaer, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Baker and Anna M. Swankey Baker and wife of the late Arthur W. Schroeder. She was raised in Poestenkill and resided the past 30 years in Troy.

Mrs. Schroeder was a homemaker. She was a member of the 6th Avenue Baptist Church in Troy for 30+ years and enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna M. Schroeder, Troy; two grandchildren, Scott Schroeder and Michele (George) Bechtoldt; two great grandchildren, Jaimie Bechtoldt and Amanda (Jesse) Sardinia; and 14 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews, 23 great great nieces and nephews and 3 great, great, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Miller and Mary VanWormer and a brother, Nelson Baker.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, from 10-11 AM with a funeral service at 11 AM with Rabbi Steve Feldman, officiating.

Interment will be in Old 56 Cemetery East Poestenkill.
