Ella Rose Jenkins Berg

Ella Rose Berg, 82 Troy Ella Rose Berg, 82, of Locust Avenue, died suddenly Tuesday at Samaritan Hospital Troy after being stricken at home. Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Jasper U. and Ella Rose Perrie Jenkins and wife of the late Paul R. Berg. She had resided in Green Island as a teenager and in Troy most of her life. She was educated at Troy Public School 16 and Troy High School. Mrs. Berg was a file clerk for Montgomery Ward in Menands many years ago and a devoted homemaker and grandmother. She was a former Cub Scout den mother and a faithful member of the Church of the Ascension in Troy. She was a lifelong friend of Dr. John Browe, Rose Burt, Ethel Rierdan and Thelma Boettger. Survivors include two sons Paul J. Berg and wife Sandra of Pittstown and John D. Berg of Rome; two daughters Mary E. Kelly and husband Ronald of Ballston Lake and Peggy M. Bottiecher and husband Thomas of Roanoke, VA; a brother Richard Leadley of Brunswick; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Lois Barringer. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2pm from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. comer of Pawling at Maple Avenues Troy. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 1-2pm prior to the service. Interment Brookside Cemetery in Brunswick. Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Berg to the Church of the Ascension Congress Street Troy, NY 12180.
