North Greenbush - Elizabeth ‘Betty’ A. Bielass Ostwald, 86, of Geiser Road died Sunday, February 11, 2018, at St. Peter's Hospice Albany.
Born in North Greenbush, was daughter of the late Fritz Bielass and Marietta Filieau Bielass and wife for 51 years of the late Leo Ostwald who died in 2000. She had resided in North Greenbush her entire life, wintering in Florida.
Betty was employed as a bus driver for Rensselaer County BOCES for 22 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member and historian of North East Stock Car Old Timers Association, an avid and dedicated fan of Kenny Tremont Jr. #115, enjoyed watching monster trucks, and listening to the country music of Billy Montana. She was also a member of the Taborton Home Bureau and a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Survivors include her children, Robert W. Ostwald, Jacksonville, FL, Richard J. Ostwald, North Greenbush and Linda S. Pierce, North Greenbush; a sister, Doris Read, CA; 7 grandchildren, Melissa, Shawn, Josh, Leigh, Jason, Michael and Jaclyn; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Elsie M. and Paul F. Bielass, Grace M. Hains and Ruth M. Harold R. Arthur E., and Pauline E. Bielass.
Relatives and friends may call at the St. Michael the Archangel Church 175 Williams Road Troy on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9-10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10AM.
Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery Rensselaer.
