North Greenbush - Elisabeth Eileen, ‘Liz’, ‘Beth’, Stephens, 59, of North Greenbush, died Friday, February 24, 2017, at Samaritan Hospital with family and friends at her side.
 
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Robert Stephens and Sheila Looney Stephens. She had resided in the Troy area all of her life and was a graduate of Tamarac High School, class of 1975 and Hudson Valley Community College School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
 
Eileen was employed as a teacher's aid at Tamarac Middle School and most recently was a Social Service Coordinator for over 25 years at the Van Rensselaer Manor.
 
She had many special interests including Ancestry and tracing her roots, Irish traditions, and culinary cuisine. She loved spending summers at Cranberry Pond as well as spending time with her family and friends.
 
Survivors include her precious dog, Timmy; uncles and aunts, Gerald E. (Lorraine) Looney, Troy, Richard R. (Judith) Stephens, Troy and Elizabeth Looney, Troy; her cousins, Kathleen (Jim) Burden, Darryl (Deborah) Mosher, Kelly (John Kelly) Mosher, Michael (Venus) Mosher, Dr. Andrea Looney, April (Mark) Miller, Jeri Jeanne (James) Daley, Jennifer (Michael) Kobylar, Jeffrey Mosher, Janice Schilling, Christopher (Marisa) Stephens and Michele (Christopher) Somelofske, her loving Goddaughter, Emily Heery and veryspecial friends, Doreen Fitzgerald, Chauncey Jones, Barbara Warren, Betty Lorenz and Glen Rufenacht.  She was predeceased by “Nana” Alpharetta Looney; Grandma Aud Stephens; Aunts, Catherine 'Kaye' (Elmer) Grogan and Eileen (Lawrence) Mosher; Uncles, Ronald Stephens and John E. Looney.
 
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the Samaritan Hospital ICU and the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County.   
 
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Monday, February 27, 2017 from 9-9:45 at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy with a graveside service at 10AM. If you are not coming to the funeral home we will meet at the Gardner Earl Chapel of Oakwood Cemetery on Oakwood Avenue Troy at 10 AM.
 
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Elisabeth Eileen Stephens to the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church Memorial Fund/Ramp; 990 Hoosick Road Troy, NY 12180.
