Welcome to the memorial page for

Eleanor L. (Iveson) Reckner

April 2, 1923 ~ August 11, 2015 (age 92) 92 Years Old

North Greenbush - Eleanor L. Iveson Reckner, 92, formerly of Pinewoods Avenue Brunswick died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born in Brunswick, she was daughter of the late Harry Iveson and Mildred French Iveson and wife of the late George L. Reckner. She had resided in the Brunswick area all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1940 and Troy Business College.

Eleanor was a homemaker for many years, a cafeteria worker for George Washington School and a day care worker for Emma Willard School for 18 years.

She was a former member of the Church of Christ Disciples in Eagle Mills and attended Buskirk Reformed Church.  She was well loved for her sense of humor and love for people.  Eleanor had a childlike sense of play until the very end and for many years left comic personal billboard notes on the tree outside her home on Pinewoods Avenue.

Survivors include her children, Donald (Joan) Reckner, Nassau, Peggy (Bill) Piche, Eagle Bridge and Susan Kendall, Troy; a daughter-in-law, Ginger Reckner Strait, Idaho; a brother, Robert H. Iveson, Vista, CA; two sisters, Marilyn (Harold) Wagar, Cropseyville and Sandra (Arlie) Teal, East Poestenkill; her grandchildren, Debbie Crandall, Russ and Kris Reckner and Maggie Kendall; her great grandchildren,  Steven and Stephanie Crandall, Taylor Smith, Alana and Alivia Reckner; a great great grandson, Nicholas Gardner and soon to arrive, Aiden Crandall and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, William Reckner and a granddaughter, Alison Piche.
