Edith Roden Flubacher , 93

Wynantskill Edith Roden Flubacher , 93 ,of Peck Road Wynantskill, died Saturday, October 2, 2004 surrounded by her family.

Born in Oswego, NY, she was the daughter of the late Martin Roden and the late Olive (Weigelt) Roden and wife of the late Sgt. Jacob G. Flubacher, retired from the NYS Police.

She had resided in Wynantskill for many years. She attended Oswego schools and graduated from Oswego Normal School, which is now SUNY Oswego, with a degree in teaching.

Mrs. Flubacher taught third grade in West Sand Lake Elementary School for many years, retiring in 1972.

She was a member of the Embroiders Guild of America, Sand Lake Senior Citizens, Friends of the North Greenbush Library and was a communicant of St. Jude's the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and St. Jude's Prayer Group. Mrs. Flubacher enjoyed all forms of needlepoint and gardening.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan (Frank) Hogan of Averill Park and Frances (Ronald) Hill of Ellison Bay, WI; five grandchildren, Michael M. Hogan of Albany, Denise E. (Charles) Geraldi of New Lebanon, Timothy J. Hogan of East Nassau, Matthew (Lisa) Hill of Pittsburgh, PA and Nadine (James) Brooke of Waukesha, WI and two great grandchildren, Jake and Ryan Brooke. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters, Edward, Gerald, Paul, Frederick, Katherine, Margaret and Olive-Rose.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 9:00 AM at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
