Today's service at the First United Presbyterian Church was very joyful and it showed many sides of our dear Heinrich that were new to me.
Thank you all for your participation!

I appreciated 'Doc' Medicus during my years at RPI and Delta Tau Delta. He enjoyed spending time at the House, inspired us to take on fun challenges as well as serious ones and gave us the opportunity to do yard work for him and enjoy the wonderful lunches that Mrs. Medicus prepared. He helped us all celebrate making it through RPI. And I now know that I only saw a small part of all that he was and had achieved. His is a life to celebrate.

Heinrich, you are/were the personification of "joy of living". Such a huge part of our lives over all the years, starting when you & my Dad shared an office in the Physics Building and you would come to our house for your Christmas Eve birthday, and again on Christmas Day (along with the Winholds). I am sure my refined taste in chocolate (that is, "it must be Lindt!") is due to you. When I was 7, I planned to marry you, and though when, at 8, I reconciled to your marriage to Hildegard (who I of course came to love too), you always reminded me with glee that you were my "ex-fiance"! . I am so glad that my husband Ross got to meet you & Hildegard when we visited from Australia, and so he also had a chance to know the kind, warm, amazingly witty person you are. Physics: energy cannot be destroyed. You live on with us, and we will *always* smile when we think of you.

I cannot ever remember "Doc Medicus" without an infectious smile. It would make your whole day. As a Delt, his guidance, thoughtfulness and love were really appreciated. He always laughed at our youthful irresponsibility. He knew so much.

Doc Medicus was cherished by generations of RPI students, and the Delts in particular. He positively impacted so many young lives including mine, and I know of noone who does not hold him in the highest regard. That he contributed so much, as a physicist, philanthropist, teacher, mentor and good friend in his rich life is a gift we all can cherish. Godspeed, Doc. Condolences to his family and closest friends.
