Dorothy E. Keefe Wetsel, 87

Troy - Dorothy E. Keefe Wetsel, 87, formerly of Miller Avenue Troy died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a long illness.

Born in Halfmoon, she was daughter of the late Harold Keefe and Mary Jermone Keefe and wife of the late John M. Wetsel. She was raised in Halfmoon and had resided in Troy most of her life, living on Miller Avenue for over 50 years. She attended Cohoes Schools.

Mrs. Wetsel was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley (Richard) Reed, Suisun, CA, Nancy (John) Bowes, Panama City, FL and Diane (Larry) Vartigian, Troy; her cherished grandchildren, Courtney (Jacob)Davis-Landrum, Katie(Chad) Morrison, Ashley Reed, Whitney (Javier) Cobrera, Amy (Andrew) Bowes-Smith, Matthew Bowes and Larry Jr., Nicole, and Brandon Vartigian; her adoring great grandchildren, Aaron and Gavin Kibodeauf, Kendall Vartigian, Silas Davis, Liam and Michael Landrum, Sherlyn and Malachi Cabrera; her sister-in-law, Margaret (Dave) Hetrick; her Godchild, Donna Auxter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Leona Johnston and Mildred Hastings and a Godchild, Alexander Waldie.

Dorothy's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire 2nd floor staff at Heritage House and Community Hospice of Rensselaer for the care and loving assistance they gave Dorothy. A special thanks is also extended to family and friends who continued to visit and lift her spirits and to her neighbors who where always there to lend a helping hand.

Throughout her life, Dorothy was dedicated to her family and faith. She will forever be remembered and cherished for her great love of family, her exuberant spirit and her endearing sensitivity. Her legacy is the inspiration she gave us and the changes she brought about in the lives of those who loved her.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 12:30 PM at the funeral home with Rev. James J. Vaughan, officiating.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
