Dorothy E. Howe Paddock, 97

Troy - Dorothy E. Howe Paddock, 97, formerly of Pawling Avenue of Troy, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Elmer L. Howe and Grace A. (Richards) Howe.

She had resided in Troy all her life and was educated at Mary Warren Free Institute, completing seventh and eighth grade at the same time, and a 1926 graduate of Troy High School.

Dorothy was a supervisor for Cluett, Peabody & Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the Ilium Literary Club, United Methodist Women, and Christ Church United Methodist in Troy.

She is survived by several cousins including Charlotte Murphy of Wynantskill, Susan Happ of Great Barrington and Steven Rall of Taborton and a special friend George Regan of Troy. She was predeceased by two sisters, Grace L. and Anna E. Howe and two brothers, Lawrence S. and William R. Howe.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 1pm at Christ Church United Methodist State St and Fifth Avenue Troy.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday from 5-7pm.

Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
