Dorothy E. (Engwer) McGan

Troy - Dorothy Engwer McGan, 89, of Watervliet Shaker Road Colonie died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Daniel A. Engwer Sr. and Lillian Cooper Engwer and wife of the late George P. McGan. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School. 

Dorothy was a homemaker and worked with the Board of Elections for many years until 2 years ago.  She loved her dogs and was an avid NY Yankees fan.    

Survivors include a daughter - Kim (Joe Lattanzio) McGan, Albany; a son, Brian (Lisa Brodeur-McGan) McGan, Southampton, MA; a sister, Jean (David) Sandman, NC; two granddaughters, Ashlee and Danielle McGan and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Gladys A. Manning, Elizabeth Sorrento, Marie Sagendorf, Alethea Carroll, Lillian Lapp and Daniel A. Engwer Jr.

The family would like to thank  the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility of Colonie for the loving care provided and also to the staff at Colonie EMS and Samaritan Hospital.

Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.  Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville with her husband.
