Dorothy H. 'Dotty' Rooke Hyman, 71

Wynantskill- Dorothy H. 'Dotty' Rooke Hyman, 71,of North View Avenue, died Monday, October 23, 2006 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany after a long illness.

Born in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late George Rooke Sr. and Mildred (Webster) Rooke, and wife of the late James F. Hyman.

She was raised in Schuylerville and graduated from Schuylerville Central School.. She attended Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing , graduating with the class of 1955. Since 1960 she has resided in Wynantskill.

Dotty was a registered nurse at Samaritan Hospital for over 30 years, retiring several years ago. She later worked at Eden Park Nursing Home, and did private duty nursing.

She was a member of First Reformed Church of Wynantskill.

She is survived by a daughter, Beth Ellen Hyman of Wynantskill; a son, Daniel James Hyman of Wynantskill; a brother, William W. Rooke (Katherine) of Plattsburgh; several nieces including, Fawn J. Rooke of Gaithersburg, MD, Anita O'Dell of Troy and Sheree Rooke Demming of Bloomington, IN and several cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, George H. Rooke Jr.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy. The Rev. Robert Hundemann, will officiate.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill.
