Dorothy A. Diehl, 87

Averill Park - Dorothy A. Diehl, 87, of Liberty Lane Averill Park died Monday, November 07, 2011, at the Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Samuel Goodwin and Alice Herring Goodwin and wife of the late Harvey Diehl. She was raised in Lansingburgh and resided in the Averill Park area for the past 41 years and was a Lansingburgh High School graduate.

Mrs. Diehl was employed as a machinist for the Watervliet Arsenal for 16 years retiring in 1986.

She was an avid golfer and bowler.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna L. (Robert) Schroeder of Poestenkill and Nancy L. (Richard) Kimmey of Averill Park, her son, David (Jill) Diehl of Voorheesville, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Norma Jarvis and Shirley Masoni.

A private graveside service was held on Wednesday at Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
