Doris F. (Moody) Pollock

Brunswick - Doris F. Moody Pollock, 94, of Tamarac Road died Saturday, July 12, 2014, one day before her 95th birthday, at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Poestenkill, she was daughter of the late Floyd W. Moody and Ruth Livermore Moody and wife of the late George A. Pollock. She was raised in Poestenkill on the Moody family farm, married George then moved to Northside Cohoes and lived on Clums Corners in Brunswick for the past 51 years and was a 1938 graduate of Troy High School. 

Mrs. Pollock was a food demonstrator for Price Chopper on Hoosick Road in Brunswick for 7 years, until recently and made desserts for Teagan's Steak and Seafood in East Greenbush.  She also operated a catering service, Doris's Cakes and Catering for many years.

She was a member of Eagle Mills Christian Disciples Church.    

Survivors include two sons, Donald G. (Bernardine Hart) Pollock, Blackstone, MA and Alfred F. ("T" Theresa Schneider) Pollock, Troy; her grandchildren, Christopher, Darrell and Daniel Pollock, Blackstone, MA and Teagan and Dylan Pollock, Troy; her great grandchildren, Corey, Ryan, Daniel and Josie and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Chainao and a brother, Donald Floyd Moody.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 5-8 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Michael White, officiating.

Interment will be in  Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Doris F. Pollock to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
