Doris (Burnap) DesLauriers

Troy - Doris Burnap DesLauriers, 95, of Burdett Avenue died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center Troy after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late LeRoy Nelson Burnap and Florence May Huff Burnap and wife of the late Joseph F.  DesLauriers Jr. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School, Troy Conservatory of Music and attended courses at The College of Saint Rose and Hudson Valley Community College. 

Doris taught piano and organ for 40 years, starting at age 16.

She was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church in Lansingburgh and co-coordinator of the hot meal food programs of the Lansingburgh Churches.    

Survivors include her special friends, Joe and Judy Cunningham and family, Troy and Evelyn Bedard, Albany.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy J. McGuire.

Relatives and friends may call at the Trinity Episcopal Church 585 Fourth Avenue North Troy on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 3:30-4:30 PM with a service to follow at 4:30PM with Rev. Desmond Francis, Rector, officiating.

Interment will be in  Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
