Donald J. McLaughlin, 73

North Greenbush - Donald J. McLaughlin, 73, of Crimson Circle died April 8, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Brooklyn, NY he was son of the late Patrick McLaughlin and Beatrice Merriman

McLaughlin, step son of Anna (Gara) McLaughlin and husband for 50 years of Shirley A. Robinson McLaughlin.

He resided in Brooklyn for 2 years, then Albany and Hilton Head, SC and in the Troy area for many years and was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany.

Mr. McLaughlin was an accountant for the New York State Comptrollers Office in Albany for 37-1/2 years retiring in 1990.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Troy and most recently of St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush. He was an army veteran serving in California.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his brother, Thomas (Wanda) McLaughlin of Albany; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas Stevens, Edward (Patricia) Robinson, Marilyn (Terry) Wiegert and Barbara (William) Campbell and nieces and nephews, Margaret Padula, Kathleen Stevens, Ellen Schaefer, Mark and Patrick Stevens, Cathy, Laurie and Thomas McLaughlin, Steven and Scott Robinson, Sheryl Harlow, Eric and Mark Wiegert and Bryan Campbell. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary (Mae) Stevens.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9AM at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7PM.

Interment will take place, Monday at 10AM at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the 'C' Wing of Van Rensselaer Manor and 5th floor north at St. Mary's Hospital
