Donald Clickner

Brunswick - Donald Clickner, 96, of Garfield Road died Monday, July 7, 2014 at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center.

Born and lived most of his life in Brunswick, he was son of the late Wesley H. Clickner and Sylvia French Clickner and husband of the late Helen Pollock Clickner. He attended grammar schools in Brunswick and graduated from Troy High School, class of '35.  He entered the G.E. machinist apprentice course and studied some selected subjects at Hudson Valley Community College. 

Don worked as a tool, die and gage maker for some local companies.  He operated the Brunswick Machine and Tool Works for over 50 years.

He was a member of several Antique Engine and Tractor clubs, the Brunswick Historical Society, and Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge #311.  He was on the board of directors at The Schaghticoke Fair for many years. 
 
Survivors include his five children, Lillian Schleede, Austin TX, Robert Clickner, Louisville, KY, Calvin Clickner, Eagle Mills, Dorothy Wehnau, Maryland, NY and Marian Palmer, Plattsburgh; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two daughters, Grace Maynard and Rev. Carolyn Belenski; his siblings, Rosamond M. Clickner, Naomi Pearse, Rev. Kermit Clickner and Kenneth Clickner and Shirley Clickner and a grandson, Justin Maynard.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 10-11AM with a service at 11AM. Interment will be in  Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.  A reception will follow at the Brunswick Church, 42 White Church Lane, Troy, NY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Donald Clickner to the Justin J. Maynard Memorial STEM Innovation Scholarship at North Middlesex Savings Bank 489 Main Street, PO Box 1250 Groton, MA 01450.
