Dominic F. Lombardo (Lombardi), 77

North Greenbush Dominic F. Lombardo (Lombardi), 77, of North Greenbush, N.Y. died on Saturday, February 15, 2003. The son of Dominick and Stella Verrecchio Lombardo, he was born and educated in Troy. As a Sergeant in the Marine Corp., he served in the Pacific during World War II.

He was a Troy restauranteur with his brother 'Tony' for over 50 years. He co-owned and operated Manory's Luncheonette (1950-1965), Paul's Restaurant (1960's), and Marios's Theatre Restaurant until their retirement in 1993.

He married the former Antoinette Dussault of Cohoes in 1948. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their 10 children: Stella Lombardo and her husband Herbert Abbott, M.D. of Slingerlands; Cecilia (Cis) and Walter Woodka of East Greenbush; Julia (Julie) Lombardo and her husband Eric Mason of Scotia; Louisa Lombardo and her husband James Dillon of Niskayuna; Theresa Lombardo and her husband John Shinkunas of Stuart, FL; Maria and Paul Freddura of Cambridge, MA; Mario and Anthony Lombardo, both of Newark, CA; Victoria and Charles McNally of Chesapeake, VA; and Regina Lombardo of Troy.

He is "Grandpere" to 25 grandchildren: Christopher and Emily Abbott; Matthew, Marc and Michael Woodka; Solange, Gillian and Gabrielle Mason; Ernie, Timothy, Brian and Hannah Dillon; Frank and Margaret Shinkunas; Maximillian, Basil, Theo, Sage, Sebastian, Louis and Dominic Freddura; Lisa Ricci; and Jesse, Frances and Anthony McNally.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Madeline Suriano and Jennie Berger. He is survived by his sisters Julie Crupe, Mary Lanzillo, andAnne Rymanowski, as well as his brother and business partner Anthony Lombardo, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church of Troy.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:00am from St. Michael the Archangel Church Williams Road North Greenbush where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue in Troy Monday from 4-8pm. Interment Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Rensselaer County Association for Retarded Citizens 415 River Street Troy, NY 12180.
