Cohoes Dolores P. Leavenworth Garceau , 69 ,of Cayuga Plaza Apartments on Remsen Street died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Syosset, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Benonini Leavenworth and Nina (Tucker) Leavenworth.

She was raised and educated in Long Island and resided in Cohoes for many years.

Mrs. Garceau was a secretary for Farm Family Insurance in Glenmont for 10 years retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Free Spirit Fellowship in Ballston Spa, the Cohoes Tenants Association and a Foster Grandparent. She loved being a grandparent and a seamstress and playing bingo and cards.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Kazekenus of Troy and Emily Amitushio (Frank) of Oneonta; five sons, Robert Donohue (Karen) of Oneonta, Michael Jewett of Troy, Timothy Jewett (Margaret) of FL, Joseph R. Garceau Jr.(Sandy) of Ballston Spa and Jody F. Garceau of Cohoes; a sister, Patsy Leavenworth of Selkirk; 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Joyce Grimes and Grace Leavenworth.

Funeral service will be held Friday evening, at 7:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue with Rev. T. A. LaFave, Pastor of the Free Spirit Fellowship, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
