Denis Harrington, 54

Cropseyville - Denis Harrington, 54, of Rt 2 died Sunday, May 03, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital after struggling with a severe illness.

Born in Round Lake on June 7, 1954, he was son of the late Paul Harrington and Joanne Kellogg Harrington. He built a home in Grafton where he resided while owning another on Roquette Lake.

He was a man of the outdoors and worked in the construction field most of his life and did picture puzzles on his down time. His favorite and most beloved places were a horse race tracks. He worked at Saratoga Race Course for 13 years in many different capacities including directing traffic to working at the Gate B horse crossing. He loved every aspect of horse racing; the people, horses, betting, and the atmosphere.

He is survived by his oldest daughter, Samantha J. Harrington and her fiancé, Daniel Bell and youngest daughter, Katie B. Harrington.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday evening at 6 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Michael Crandall , officiating

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday from 3-6 PM.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke.

We would like to thank St. Mary's Hospital and Seton Health Palliative Care Program for they became a significant part of his life in the past few years. You are wonderful professionals with caring motives and hearts. You have helped him and our family through it all. Thank you.
