Daniel A. Engwer Jr., 74

Averill Park - Daniel A. Engwer Jr., 74, of Averill Park died Saturday, June 09, 2012, at Craneville Place Dalton, MA after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Daniel August Engwer Sr. and Lillian Cooper Engwer. He had resided on Winter Street in Troy and Miller Hill in Averill Park for many years and was a 1955 graduate of Troy High School .

Dan was the owner from 1961-1999 of Dan Engwer Wholesale Florist Supplier and the former owner of Engwer's Coffee and Creme in Averill Park from 1985-2003.

He was a Past President of the Capital District Florist Association and a Past Master of the Evening Star Masonic Lodge #75 in Latham. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his children, Cyndi J. Campana, Troy, Daniel A. Engwer III, Troy, Wayne E. Engwer , Berlin, Paul A. Engwer, Poestenkill and Kathleen L. Tufano, Troy; two sisters, Dorothy McGann, Wynantskill and Jean (David) Sandman, Mt. Airy, NC, his grandchildren, Michael, Brianna, Dakotha, Jacqueline, Jeremy, Jason, Joshua, Jessica and Zachary Engwer, Kristen Garvansites, Jacob Verchereau and Anthony Tufano; three great grandchildren, Hunter, Ayden and Garrett Engwer and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five sisters, Gladys A. Manning, Elizabeth Sorrento, Marie Sagendorf, Alethea Carroll and Lillian Lapp.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 4-8PM.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11AM at the funeral home with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.
