Colleen M. Connell Smith, 58

Solvay, NY - Colleen M. Connell Smith, 58, of Hall Avenue died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Crouse Hospital Syracuse, NY during her fight against cancer.

Born in Troy, NY she was daughter of the late Thomas F. Connell III and Shirley Ann Davis Connell and wife of Lawrence J. Smith. She was raised on the East Side of Troy, a 1974 graduate of Troy High and later a graduate of Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing class of 1977 then resided in California for 2 years before moving to the Syracuse area in 1985.

Colleen was an RN Case Manager for Integrity Home Care in St. Camillus, NY for the past 4 years and worked as a Registered Nurse in various capacities for many years.

She was an active member of the PTO, Athletic Boosters, Relay For Life and Solvay Tigers Little League where she supported and was very proud of both of her children. She also enjoyed participating in her weekly bowling league.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Brian Patrick Smith, Las Vegas; a daughter, Carrie Ann Smith, Maryland; her siblings, Patricia A. (Tom) Murley, Troy, David P. Connell Sr., Troy, Kevin P. (Colleen) Connell Sr., Troy, Timothy J. (Joan) Connell, Wynantskill and Terry P. Connell Sr., Troy, and and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas F. Connell IV.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 4-7PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
