It seems like yesterday that we were skiing at Crooked Lake. You and your family living just up the road. I remember going into State Bank when you were my loan officer. You will be missed.

Very sorry to hear about Cliff's passing. He was a great banker and a great manager. Best direct report many of us State Bank, Norstar, Fleet folks ever had. His mark / legacy continues to be practiced in the Albany commercial banking ranks by those who he mentored so well. Rest in peace.

Cliff was one of the good guys at State Bank and succeeding banks. I recall when I was a young employee working in the credit department, how Cliff (then working in Plattsburg) guided me and helped me, even though we had never met at that time.
Later we enjoyed him and his sense of humor at the monthly luncheons and quarter century parties.

He will be greatly missed by many.

Dear Joyce, Carrielynn and Linda,

I am deeply sorry for your great loss; but I am am relieved that Skip is not in pain, and no longer dreading leaving his loving family.
I was delighted to have spent so much time with him at our last 4th of July celebration at Linda & Dave's. It was wonderful to have had such a wonderful visit with him on the phone on one of his last really good days so very recently. I would never have believed that he was ill if I didn't know better. He was in wonderful spirits...a lovely memory. I will miss this gentle man.

Our friendship dates 53 years when we both were employed at the State Bank of Albany. You always demonstrated the capacity to understand and support officers and staff interested in developing his or her banking career. You always made time to listen to their problems and help with great advice. We worked together so well;traveled and managed relations with great passion and joy. We had fun times like the night I helped you move into a new office and discovered a bottle of Cold Duck Burgundy wine. There we were laughing about ourselves, placed our feet on the desk and polished off the wine bottle. You were a good friend and I will miss you dearly Cliff.

Knew your Dad many years at the old State Bank of Albany, my first place of employment. My strongest memory of him was that of a gentleman, a good way to be remembered as.

To Joyce, Carrielynn, Joyce and families. I always looked up to Skippy as he was 13 years older than me and he seemed like such a tall handsome man who did all kind of wonderful things with his baby cousins when we visited in Averil Park so many years ago. I'm so sorry we will not be able to gather again in High Bridge to celebrate the Apgar/Novak families, but we know he rests from his earthly struggles and now watches us from the non physical. Love, Mimi and Laura

One interview back in 1989 and the rest is history. My heart, along with so many others that he mentored, is broken. I will miss you dearly my friend.
